More information on other activities for students will be posted on the GM 2017 website.

Student Support Program

At the GM 2017, we will offer free hotel accommodation to a limited number of students who apply for this support. In case the number of applicants exceeds the number of students we are able to accommodate, there will be prioritization based on a) PES student membership and student participation (e.g. holding leadership positions in PES Student Branch Chapter (b) student status, i.e. undergrad/MS/PhD student --- undergraduates receive higher priority and are encouraged to present capstone design projects on power and energy area in the poster session; (c) whether a student is submitting a poster in the student poster contest or has an accepted technical paper; (d) timely application; (e) merit of application; (f) support provided by the student's advisor, (g) previous participation in PEEC sponsored programs; and, (h) number of accepted applicants from any given university. Women, minorities and undergraduates are especially encouraged to apply. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

In order to be selected for free accommodation it is not essential to have a technical paper accepted at the Conference, or to enter in the Student Poster Contest, but in the event that there are more student applicants than we can support, the applications will be prioritized on the above criteria for support.

We plan to notify students of acceptance into this program by 1st April 2017.

Please note that no funds will be available from PEEC to help with travel costs.

Note you MUST register for the
GM 2017 to register and receive support from PEEC, you must be a current student member of the IEEE.

Please also note, students who are not accepted into the student housing program and, as a result decide not to attend the General Meeting, can cancel their registration and no cancellation fee will apply. All cancellation requests must be made no later than May 31, 2017. After this date, all regular cancellation penalties will apply. To request a cancellation, please login to your GM registration profile and click on "Send a cancellation request" link. This will be the only accepted method to submit a refund request. There will be no refunds at any time for any reason on payments made by wire transfer.

Applications for the student support program must be completed using the on-line application form.

Faculty/Supervisors/Sponsors can recommend their students using this on-line recommendation form.
